A very underrated game. I enjoyed the concept a lot and the art style is simple yet charming.

The Visit is a hilarious free flash game that's well worth your time

Co-created by the guy who made that amazing point-and-click Double Fine application.

"Beginnings are special," said Christian Donlan at the start of his Dishonored diary , where he noted that ruining the start of a game is just as big a spoiler as the ending.

That's never been truer than in Exotworking's The Visit , a clever free flash game about... well, I don't want to spoil it for you, so let's just say it's about a man whose day goes in a very unexpected direction.

The whole thing is a parody of conventional game design and much of the fun is trying to discover all six of the endings - each with their own amazing piece of artwork at their conclusion.

This Visit was created by Irina Gross, Benedikt Hummel, and Majus Fietzek, who gained some notoriety for the greatest job application of all-time ; a point-and-click adventure about interviewing for an internship at Double Fine that ended up getting him said internship at Double Fine.

I suspect Monkey Island fans will especially get a kick out of it, and if you're ever applying for a job and see his name on the list of potential hires, just give up and do something else. I hear floor inspector is a lovely position...

The Visit » Video Game

The Visit is a video game created by Molkman and Majus Arts for Kongregate and Newgrounds in 2012. In it, you play as a nameless man who has to get to his ladyfriend while avoiding crabs.

This game provides the following tropes:

• Deconstruction Game : Of jumping on enemies in video games.
• Five-Second Foreshadowing : You'll notice something is amiss when touching a crab doesn't deal any damage, hinting that they're not malicious and what will happen if you do stomp on one.
• High-Voltage Death : In the worst ending, the main character dies on an electric chair.
• Great Guy: The Golden Ending . He kills no crabs and reaches the house.
• Forgiven: A Bittersweet Ending . He kills a crab, chooses the sorry response, apologises and reaches the house.
• Bad Person: A Downer Ending . He kills a crab, chooses the rude response but doesn't destroy the funeral and reaches the house.
• This ending has two variations depending on the response he chose at the trial. If the hero was sorry, the cat will try to console him; otherwise, it will scratch him and leave.
• Rascal On The Run: A Bittersweet Ending . He kills a crab, and escapes the court via the window on the right.
• Horrible Person: A really Downer Ending . He kills a crab, jumps on a lamp, and kills the judge.
• Tally Marks on the Prison Wall : The hero does a lot of them on the prison walls, floor and toilet if he goes there.

I get a brief loading screen, then it goes white. I have the latest Flash and Firefox updates. I'm trying it in Chrome, but the loading screen seems to be stuck.

I just played this last night and giggled madly at every ending I got. Good to see it up here!

It took me several attempts to

NOT kill the last crab that scuttles in a small space

How silly of me.

PS, if you're trying to get ending #1 (as listed in the walkthrough)

Try starting to run away first - what might help you get to the judge's head from up there?

I like how it tried to defy video game logic by the whole

crab murder

thing, but still followed video game logic in that

jumping on head = death

Perhaps something to be explored in a similar game in the future?

Wuthering Waves – Visit The Black Shores in Version 1.3

Wuthering Waves Version 1.3 will hit the serves on September 28, bringing a new region, questlines, playable characters, enemies, and an entire set of QoL optimizations.

Having completed the trials of Mt. Firmament, Rover sets out for a brand-new area, the Black Shores. The protagonist will encounter new friends, foes, and challenges unlike anything they’ve faced yet.

The Black Shores consist of two main areas: the Black Shores Archipelago (the upper level) and Tethys’ Deep (lower level). Shrouded in mystery and turmoil, the Archipelago is fraught with danger … and opportunity. No one knows how to lift the suffocating fog, allowing this coast to once again take up its mission of connecting the world. Meanwhile, Tethys’ Deep is a place where discordant notes drift across the night sky. Are you brave enough to enter?

The new Version will also introduce two new playable Resonators: The Shorekeeper (5-star) and Youhu (4-star).

The Shorekeeper is an upcoming 5-star Resonator, making her arrival in Wuthering Waves Version 1.3. The Shorekeeper is the guardian of the Black Shores with a combat style of survival healing, pull / attraction, and damage amplification.

Youhu is an upcoming 4-star playable Resonator, likewise appearing in V1.3. Youhu features a combat style of survival healing, resonance skill damage, resonance destruction and coordinated attack damage amplification.

Wuthering Waves – Version 1.3 Additions & Events Include:

• New area: The Black Shores;
• New Story Quests;
• New Resonators: The Shorekeeper and Youhu.
• New feature: Portal Puzzles. With the help of a small robot named Kukoko, Rovers can fire energy pulses into “Data Overwrite Zones”, which activate the portals, allowing teleportation between isolated locales.
• New feature: Aetherfin. Aetherfin is the creature of Remnant Energy, a life form unique to the Black Shores. In version 1.3, Rover can surf to collect stray Aetherfins on the sea and steer them to their homeland to earn rewards!
• New Echo: Fallacy of No Return.
• New weapons.

Team USA basketball roster announced: See the men's team for 2024 Paris Olympics

Time will tell if it’s another Dream Team, but the roster for the United States men’s basketball team at the upcoming  2024 Summer Olympics  in Paris was officially revealed Wednesday on "TODAY."

The men’s team has a decorated history at the Olympics, and this year’s squad is seeking to defend the gold medal that Team USA won at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

The U.S. has a stranglehold on the gold: It has  won 16 gold medals  and has been the top team at each Games dating back to 2004, when Argentina stunned the U.S. in the semifinals en route to claiming the gold medal.

Here’s a look at who will represent the red, white and blue in Paris, along with which team they play for in the NBA.

LeBron James — Los Angeles Lakers

Stephen Curry — Golden State Warriors

Kevin Durant — Phoenix Suns

Joel Embiid — Philadelphia 76ers

Anthony Davis — Los Angeles Lakers

Devin Booker — Phoenix Suns

Anthony Edwards — Minnesota Timberwolves

Jayson Tatum — Boston Celtics

Bam Adebayo — Miami Heat

Tyrese Haliburton — Indiana Pacers

Jrue Holiday — Boston Celtics

James will be playing in his fourth Olympics. He  won a bronze medal in 2004 and gold  in 2008 and 2012.

Curry, meanwhile, has enjoyed a decorated career, but this will mark his first appearance in an Olympics.

Durant has the chance to make history when he takes the court in Paris. He’s one of two players, along with Carmelo Anthony, to  win three gold medals  in men’s basketball, and could be the first to win a fourth.

Who will coach the team?

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who has led his team to four NBA titles, will man the sidelines in Paris. He was an assistant on the 2021 team that won gold in Tokyo.

When does the team play?

Here’s a look at the team’s Olympic schedule as it currently stands:

July 28 — Serbia

July 31 — South Sudan

Aug. 3 — Qualifying team from the  FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament  that runs from July 2 until July 7 and features Mexico, Ivory Coast, Lithuania, Italy, Puerto Rico and Bahrain.

The Olympic matchups will be televised by NBC and streamed on Peacock.
