The fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery finds Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 is the fifth season of the sci-fi television series based on the original show created by Gene Roddenberry. Set 900 years after the original series, Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 features Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise serving as the showrunners. Jonathan Frakes, known for portraying Commander William Riker in a previous Star Trek iteration, is set to direct episodes in Season 5. Frakes has directed episodes of The Next Generation , Deep Space Nine , Voyager , Picard , and Strange New Worlds . Olatunde Osunsanmi continues to serve as executive producer and producing director for the show. Season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery is the last in the series.
Who stars in the Star Trek Discovery Season 5?
Sonequa Martin-Green stars again as the reckless but brilliant Captain Michael Burnham. Doug Jones is back as the Kelpien Captain Saru who senses impending death and is hyper-sensitive to danger. Paul Stamets, the astromycologist is played by Anthony Rapp, and his on-screen husband physician, Dr. Hugh Culber is played once again by Wilson Cruz. Mary Wiseman is back as Lieutenant Sylvia Tilly and engineer Jett Reno returns to be portrayed by Tig Notaro. The ensemble cast is rounded out by David Ajala playing Burnham’s love interest Cleveland ‘Book’ Booker and the ship’s sentient computer Zora, voiced by Annabelle Wallis.
