Eric Andre is hitting the road for “The Eric Andre Explosion,” a standup tour, this fall.

Beginning October 3rd in Kansas City, the trek includes stops in cities like Chicago, Austin, Detroit, Philly, Seattle, and New York before wrapping up in Oakland on December 16th. Fans can access a Ticketmaster pre-sale now (use code  RANCH ), while tickets open to the general public on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Fans can find additional deals over at StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed via StubHub’s FanProtect Program.

Outside the standup space, Andre recently launched Season 6 of  The Eric Andre Show,  which features guests like Natasha Lyonne, Jaleel White, Blac Chyna, Raven-Symoné, Daymond John, Meagan Good, Waka Flocka Flame, Tinashe, Cypress Hill, Lil Yachty, Lil Nas X , and an “emotionally disturbed” Chet Hanks . He’s also launched the podcast Bombing,  in which he and other comedians recount their worst standup experiences.

Get Ready for the Laughs On The Eric Andre Explosion Tour

From october to december, eric andré will be on his latest standup tour, which hits 20 cities..

Comedian, actor and host Eric André is bringing his madness to a city near you. In late August, the 40-year-old announced The Eric Andre Explosion Tour , which begins October 3 in Kansas City, also hitting Milwaukee, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, and more, before concluding in Oakland on December 16.

The tour follows André’s sixth season of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show , which included guests like Rico Nasty, Raven-Symoné, Jaden Smith, Jaleel White, Karrueche Tran, Waka Flocka Flame, Tinashe, Cypress Hill, Lil Yachty, Lil Nas X , and Donald Glover .

In a June interview with AP , André discussed putting celebrities on the sketch comedy-slash-“talk show” through hysterical, and sometimes nauseating, pranks. “It’s a break from the kind of fictitious propaganda of traditional press, I think,” he said. “They’re like, ‘Hey, you know, on set, George Clooney played a prank on me,’ or whatever. They have some anecdotes from set. It feels — people can smell it’s a little inauthentic.”

André also detailed how he’s able to maintain his composure onset, even when guests become uncomfortable or threaten to walk off, like T.I.

“I’m calculating every next step,” he continued. “I don’t want to laugh. I’ve done so much work and so much prep has gone into bringing that prank into production that I don’t want to be the one that blows it.”

The Eric Andre Show began airing in 2012. Season 6 wrapped with “The Cold Episode” with guests Meagan Good and Daymond John, while Cypress Hill performed.

Eric André is going on tour this fall. The comedian and talk show host is heading out on a 20-date run across America for “The Eric Andre Explosion.”

While no details are revealed yet about what the performances will entail, André is known for his unpredictability and penchant for making guests and audiences uncomfortable. “Bring your ranch, your nightmares, and all your friends,” he wrote on Instagram.

André 3000 talks flutes before his ACL Live show in Austin; plus cool jazz shows this week

Sunday: André 3000 treats Texas to his native flute treasures

Follow your flute fantasy to ACL Live for a special André 3000 performance showcasing his November 2023 “New Blue Sun” album. Entirely instrumental, the album is self-described as “a celebratory piece of work in the form of a living, breathing, improvised, aural organism.”

“When people think of the flute, they think of the Pied Piper, but I started playing native flute and went down a rabbit hole,” André Lauren Benjamin told the Statesman. After OutKast's final tour in 2018, the 49-year-old rapper laid down his mic, much to the chagrin of his legion of fans, many of whom consider him the G.O.A.T.

“People may not understand the choices I've made in my career. The choices I make may not be the most popular, but I do things that engage with me,” he said.

These days, he says he finds new avenues of musical discovery in obscure instruments found in thrift stores while on tour, often incorporating the gems into his improvisational live shows.

“For me, it’s an exploration and connecting with roots,” André said. “It’s cool for me to go back to the basics, like drums and flute, because those were the first around. You start with one note and go from there. Playing is a discovery.”

Saturday-Sunday: Austin Women in Jazz Festival takes over PBS Soundstage

Austin Women in Jazz Festival is heading for Austin PBS Pfluger Keller Community Soundstage for its second annual exposition of soulful melodies from female trailblazers. Produced by the local Women in Jazz Association, the show spans two days and features performances on Saturday by Maysa, Chelsey Green, Christie Dashiell, and the Pamela Hart Quintet. On Sunday evening, Kim Scott, Kyle Turner, Phylicia Raw, Kerry Wilkins and Ange K round out a weekend showcasing unforgettable smooth jazz talent supported by the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department.

Saturday: Jeff Lofton’s 1950’s Miles Davis tribute tames the heat with cool jazz

KUTX Sunday Morning Jazz brings Jeff Lofton’s 1950s Miles Davis tribute to the Paramount Theater for a special night honoring the legacy of the legendary trumpeter. Lofton is a two-time SXSW Austin Music Award Winner who has invigorated the underground jazz scene since his pilgrimage to the Lone Star State from South Caroline in 2007. The tribute has been lauded for its dedicated authenticity, and was featured in the New Faces Series at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York and the Blanton Museum of Art for their “Birth of Cool” exhibit in 2009. Alongside a substantial rhythm section, UT Austin’s Director of Jazz Studies Diego Rivera will join Lofton onstage as the John Coltrane to his Davis. Info: $43 and up, austintheater.org
