Arrive at NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport. From there, you'll be transferred to Pelling. Nestling at an altitude of 2150 meters, Pelling offers mesmerizing views of the Himalayan ranges, Kanchenjunga, and other mountains. The city is covered in the lush greenery of Alpine forests and is dotted by numerous waterfalls.

Early morning, post breakfast, treat yourself to the beautiful view of mountains. Pelling tour will consist of two parts. Tsomgo lake is not in or even very near to Gangtok. Rather, it’s a day-trip from there so, unless there are other things that particularly interest you there, Pelling would seem the better bet. Tsomgo lake is more remote than Pelling and harder to reach, though this depends, of course, from where you’re traveling.

So search for the perfect next destination concluded with Pelling. There are multiple reasons behind it as this place is full of greenery and I like doing some adventure activities while going out on a trip being a fun-loving person so I shortlisted this small town. The first thing I did was to apply for a leave from my office for a week. Then I contacted one of the trusted travel agents to make the booking arrangements from flight to hotels and sightseeing. It was time to pack bags, I kept some warm clothes, DSLR is must when you are traveling, trekking shoes, trekking gear, backpack, some basic medicines, my ID proof for showing in the hotel and airport and travel guide for Pelling.

Pemyangse Monastery

The Pemyangse Monastery is a major attraction, not only because of its religious importance but also its history. The monastery that stands at an altitude of over 6,800 feet, is among the oldest in Sikkim. The monastery dates back to the 17th century and is the creation of Lama Lhatsun Chempo.

Day 1 njp to pelling transfer.

On day 1, get transferred to Pelling after a warm welcome by our customer representative. Pelling is a touristy town in Sikkim more than 140 kilometres away. After 6 hours of journey, check into your hotel. Situated at an elevation of 2150 meters, Pelling offers a scenic view of Mount Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinolchu etc. Rest of the day free to wander around this hilly settlement. Day 2 Full Day Pelling Sightseeing

Day 3 Excursion to Yuksom

Have an early morning breakfast to have an excursion to Yuksom . Yuksom is famous for Dubdi Monastery, one of the ancient religious sites of Buddhists. Located at the tip of a hill, Dubdi is at a walking distance of 1 hour. After the memorable excursion, you will be driven back to Pelling. You are free to roam around iconic sights and local markets. About Pelling Tourism

West Sikkim's Pelling is a lively town known for its breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas and the Kanchenjunga peak. Pelling, which is at a high elevation of 6800 feet, is the perfect location for seeing the Himalayan pictures without experiencing the abrasiveness of the high mountains. The only other option besides climbing a hill is this vista. Pelling tour, which is 115 kilometers from Gangtok, is renowned for its historical and cultural richness.  Pelling trip plan has a lovely summer climate, and March to May is the best time to visit. Because the area is hilly, the winters are chilly and are characterized by landslides and precipitation. Autumn is also a great time to travel since it has its unique autumn colors. Autumn lasts from October until November. Beginning in December is winter. The most unfavorable season is monsoon since it brings significant rain to the area and closes numerous roads.

Places to Visit in Pelling ( Sightseeing)

Monastery of pemayangtse.

Pemayangtse, one of Sikkim's oldest monasteries, literally translates as the flawless, magnificent lotus. The chakras or solar plexus, which are energy centers in the human body, are supposed to be represented by it. "Lama Lhatsun" Chenpo built it in 1705, and his successors repaired and added it. It is a part of the Tibetan Buddhist Nyingma order and governs other Nyingma monasteries in Sikkim. This monastery upholds the custom of anointing monks with holy water and continues to use Bhutias as the only source of candidates for monastic ordination. Buddhists visit this location on pilgrimage because of its historical importance and spiritual value.

Concord Bridge

The Singshore Bridge is the second-highest bridge in all of Asia, the tallest bridge in Sikkim, and a suspension bridge. It has a 200-meter span and a height of at least 100 meters. The bridge gives beautiful views of the valley and is bordered by very green mountains.

Basins Of Kanchenjunga

One of Sikkim's most prominent waterfalls, it often is active all year round. It is also one busier waterfall and is located 28 kilometers from Pelling town. It has a paid entrance and is crowded with stores and street vendors. The waterfall, which is among the most spectacular, if not the largest, is located in the canyon that the power of the river's water carved out.

Lake Khecheopari

A mistranslation of Kha-Chot-Palri, which means heaven of Padmasambhava, is Khecheopalri. The lake, which is a holy lake revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, is situated in the same-named hamlet. It is a well-liked tourist site since it is said to be a lake where wishes come true. It is a component of Sikkim's Buddhist pilgrimage route. No leaves are left floating on the lake's surface because the local birds have picked them up, which is one of the lake's most distinctive characteristics.

Bishop Sanga Choeling

Another old monastery close to Pelling is called Sanga Choeling. Lama Lhatsün Chempo founded it in the 17th century. The sanctuary is reached after a 4 km hike up the hill, which also provides lovely views of the highland greenery. The monastery is located on a ride top. The fire caused some damage to the monastery, which was later reconstructed. Buddhists see it as a holy location, and many travelers may be seen here. You may view lovely paintings and clay figurines from the 17th century in this monastery.

Brimming with sheer natural beauty and amazing tourist attractions, Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim. A tour to Sikkim is incomplete without a visit to the attractions of Gangtok which is located at an altitude of 5,500 feet. The awe-inspiring attractions of the capital city include Kanchenjunga mountain, the third highest mountain in the world, gushing waterfalls, sprawling forests, picturesque landscapes and much more. Lachung, a charming town in north Sikkim is located at an elevation of about 9,600 ft at the confluence of the tributaries of the River Teesta and Lachen River. Stunning views are a common thing here. It also serves as a base to the staggeringly beautiful Yumthang Valley. Away from the maddening crowd of a city, Pelling is another gem in the crown of Sikkim. This amazing hill station in West Sikkim is punctuated with glistening lakes, cascading waterfalls, artistic monasteries and many more attractions. This off-beat destination is a must visit the place of Sikkim.

DAY 1 : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok (130 km/4 hrs drive)

Arrival at the NJP/Bagdogra. You will be warmly received by our representative who will then drive you to Gangtok (1437 m). Check in at the hotel. Get refreshed and relax for some time. In the evening, take a leisurely walk on the MG Marg, the main street of Gangtok. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 2 : Gangtok Sightseeing (Full-day)

After a delicious breakfast, get ready to explore the local attractions of Gangtok. Start with the Ganesh Tok, a temple which is highly revered by the local people for years and is also a perfect place to capture magnificent views of Kangchenjunga, the world’s third highest mountain. Spend some quality time at the lovely Banjhakri waterfall, a famous picnic spot for the locals. A visit to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology will introduce you to the richness of Tibetan architecture and Buddhist culture. Enjoy some adventure at the Ropeway while you treat your eyes with amazing views of the mountains. Other attractions of Gangtok that will be covered are Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Bakthang Waterfalls, Tashi view point, Enchey Monastery, Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom and Flower Show. In the evening our representative will drive you back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 3 : Gangtok (Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir)

Start your day early at around 8 am to visit the beautiful Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft/3750 m/3 hrs drive) and the famous Baba Harbhajan Mandir( 13,200 ft/4000 m). On the way halt for a quick breakfast. The mountainous route to the Lake is a nice drive. The Lake is perched at a height of 12,400 ft and is endowed with enchanting beauty. It is held sacred by the locals. Come winters and the lake looks angelic as it gets enveloped in snow. As the spring takes its turn, the lake comes back to life with colourful flowers blooming in its surroundings. Baba Harbhajan Mandir or the shrine is a well-known attraction of Sikkim. It was built in reverence of Baba Harbhajan Singh, a brave Indian soldier. He was carrying supplies to a remote place when due to extremely bad weather he lost his life. Post-excursion, our representative will bring you back to Gangtok. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok. Optional Tour Nathula Pass tour can be done on the same day at an additional cost. Nathula Pass is one of the most famous motorable mountain passes of India. With 14,140 feet altitude, this Pass also served as an important trade route between India and Tibet.

DAY 4 : Gangtok – Lachung(116 km/6 hrs drive)

Enjoy a fulfilling breakfast, and then head to Lachung, a wonderful hamlet surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks. It is well known for its apple, peach and apricot orchids, cascading waterfalls and lovely streams. The Lachung Chu river flows through the middle of the village dividing it into two. On the way to Lachung, stop at the Singhik View Point for arresting sights of mount Silnoulchu. The Seven Sister Waterfall is also on the way. Take a lunch break at Namok and later a tea break at Chungthang. Reach Lachung and check in the hotel. Refresh yourself and relax. The evening is at leisure. You can visit the handicraft center to buy souvenirs such as exquisitely woven rugs and blankets and the Lachung Gompa which was built in 1880. You will be served a delicious dinner at the hotel. Have a relaxed stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 : Lachung – Yumthang Valley (24 km/1 hr drive) – Lachung – Gangtok

Start your journey early morning to capture the unparalleled beauty of the Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft) which is popularly known as the Valley of Flowers. The greenery punctuated with a variety of colourful flowers and trees makes this valley a famous attraction of Sikkim. The valley also boasts of a lovely river and grassy plains where you come across horses, yaks and goats grazing. This is such a picture-perfect view. Take a break for lunch and then come back to Gangtok. On the way back you will come across Twin and Bheema waterfalls. Get back to the hotel in Gangtok and enjoy an overnight stay. Optional Tour Zero Point tour can be done on the same day at an additional cost.

DAY 6 : Gangtok – Pelling (120 km/5.5 hrs drive) via Namchi Char Dham and Samdruptse Statue

Post breakfast set out on a journey to Pelling. It is a picturesque town in west Sikkim dotted with pine trees. The journey to Pelling is as exciting as the destination itself. On your journey, you will drive past aromatic tea gardens, beautiful surroundings, and majestic mountains. On the way our representative will take a diversion leading to Namchi, meaning ‘top of the sky’ where you can catch great views of the mountains and the valley. Visit the sacred Namchi Char Dham which is home to 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva and replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas. Head to Samdruptse Hill where stands the 118 feet, world’s largest statue of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, the patron saint of Sikkim. This hill is called the wish-fulfilling hill. Continue your journey to Pelling. The fascinating views of Kangchenjunga await you at Pelling. It is also a home to years old monasteries. Reach Pelling and check in at the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure.

DAY 7 : Pelling Sightseeing

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, and then head out to explore the enchanting world of Pelling. Visit Kanchenjunga waterfalls to get refreshed to the core. The surrounding greenery adds more beauty to it. The other attraction on the list is Sewaro rock garden with fountains, greenery, and serenity. Then head to Darap Valley whose natural beauty will surely win your heart. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy picturesque views. Halt for lunch and then proceed further to explore Pema Yangtse monastery, Helipad Ground, Rimbi waterfalls, Khecheopalri sacred Lake and Rabdentse Ruins. Drive back to the hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 8 : Pelling – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) (88 km/3 hrs drive)
