Registration opens for World Travel Market London 2022

Registration is now open for the foremost global event of the international travel industry – World Travel Market London – taking place at London’s ExCeL on 7-9 November 2022 .

This year’s show is back to its fully live, pre-pandemic format, with hundreds of destinations exhibiting and brands from across the globe showcasing their new products to buyers.

Organisers are pulling out all the stops to make WTM London 2022 the most memorable so far, with a packed conference programme across four themed stages: the Future Stage, Sustainability Stage, Technology Stage and the Insights Stage.  Over 70 live sessions have already been confirmed, with more content being added every week.

Visitors will hear from top motivational speakers, celebrities and industry leaders from a variety of sectors during a tailored programme to help inspire, educate and guide – bringing key insights and takeaways that are hard to find anywhere else.

Once again, WTM London will serve as the meeting point for the prestigious WTM, UNWTO & WTTC Ministers Summit.  Responsible Tourism will also be on the agenda, while Travel Tech – the event for cutting-edge technology for travel and hospitality, will attract decision-makers from across the globe.

Networking is back in full force and WTM London is offering plenty of opportunities for meetings, whether that’s specific buyer networking sessions, drinks parties or other opportunities where delegates can enhance their presence, make maximum connections and increase their business network.

Juliette Losardo, Exhibition Director at World Travel Market London, said: “Buyers are telling us how excited they are about walking through the doors of ExCeL once again, where they can discover what’s new in the world of travel and what’s in store for the coming season.” “For over 40 years, WTM London has been THE place to meet new and existing business contacts and nurture relationships, and as the industry builds itself back after a challenging time, this platform is more important than ever.”

“This year, WTM London guarantees inspirational conference sessions, plenty of new features and networking opportunities galore, as we all look ahead towards the future of the travel industry.”

AUDIENCE BREAKDOWN

  • “It’s great to get away from the day to day and see what is happening in the industry in person. The app is a really helpful way to plan your visit. One of the highlights for me has been just walking through the hall and meeting the different exhibitors. I also found the Tech Huddles really well suited to my interests and questions.” Nicholas Stavrakakis CTO, Heidi
  • “It’s a great way to meet the right organisations all in one place. Really efficient way to meet everyone you want so I’ve found it to be very productive.” Eduardo Gonzalez Business Development Manager, Viator
  • “A really great event that brings everyone together and you’re able to foster so many new connections. Really well managed and great atmosphere. Appreciate there is space to work and digest all the information you have learnt from sessions and meetings.” Oscar Wilkins New Business Executive, Travel Innovation Group
  • “This is my first time at the show and it has been great to discover more about the possibilities that are out there and how the technology that is available now can help us to improve our business. I’ve really enjoyed the tech tours and having the opportunity to meet a number of businesses and learn more about the travel technology industry. It’s been really valuable.” Zana Malisevskaja Head of Purchase, Harman Group
  • “I have found the networking opportunities really valuable. The opportunity to see and learn more about what is in the pipeline for us as buyers, see what is trending and get thoughts on future trends from suppliers and the speakers has been fascinating.” Eva Storbank Business Solution Manager, Toprejser
  • “Pleased with the spread of companies attending, big and small, all of which have been extremely helpful. Relieved not to see AI dominating the agenda and other topics being covered. Suppliers all willing to provide genuine help and advice which has been invaluable.” Stephen Wilde Chairman, Serenity Holidays Limited

Captivating illustrations on display until September tackle themes of birth, masculinity, power, climate justice, and Judy’s Jewish identity. The exhibition is possible thanks to support from fashion house Dior and The Hostetler Wrigley Foundation.

Treasures span 10,000 years of history, and contributors include filmmaker Koichiro Tsujikawa, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, and fashion designer Tamae Hirokawa.

11. Tropical Modernism: Architecture and Independence, V&A South Kensington

The V&A’s new major exhibition studies the architectural style of Tropical Modernism. British architects Jane Drew and Maxwell Fry are credited with leading the movement in West Africa from the 1940s, gradually adapting the Modernist aesthetic, which failed to account for the hot, humid conditions of the region. Drew and Fry’s work is still notable in countries including Ghana and India – following independence from the British Empire, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Ghanaian Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah commissioned major new projects in this style. Despite its colonial associations, Tropical Modernism has become symbolic of these nations’ postcolonial future – this exhibition uses models, drawings, letters, photographs , and film to examine a unique architectural style.

16. THEM by Oscar Murillo, Burlington Arcade

Following the success of his Marks and Whispers exhibition in Rome , Murillo is once again working with Gagosian galleries, this time in the heart of Mayfair. His latest project hopes to push the boundaries of a simple yet radical art form: mark-making. The centrepiece of THEM is his unpublished book of the same name, filled with abstract markings which overlay childhood photographs, while the display also features a selection of Murillo’s wearable sculptures and printed shirts. These experimentations with mark-making explore themes of community and universality through deliberately obscured identities and ideas of collective consciousness. The month-long display also celebrates the launch of Murillo’s new monograph, Frequencies , and is accompanied by his takeover of the Gagosian Shop on the floor below. Layla Quaedvlieg

18. The River, Natural History Museum

As the latest addition to its contemporary art programme, the Natural History Museum presents a new way to explore the natural world through this first-of-its-kind audio exhibition created by sound artist Jana Winderen. The concept is simple: enjoy the beautiful underwater soundscape of London’s iconic River Thames. Visitors are plunged into the depths of the river through a 360-degree audio experience, made up of hydrophone recordings taken by Jana from the source to the estuary. On this aquatic journey, the peaceful orchestra of underwater life is often disrupted by the imposing noise of human activity. The River , therefore, hopes to highlight the importance of sound in this habitat and the impact humans are having on it. Layla Quaedvlieg

TAP Centre for Creativity 203 Dundas St. London, Ontario  N6A 1G4

A solo exhibition by resident artist Ian Indiano, taking place in LAB 203.

TAP is excited to present ‘SOOT’, an exhibition by resident artist Ian Indiano. "Soot” (in Portuguese “Fuligem”) is an installation that delves into the multifaceted nature of carbon as a conceptual starting point, both as a physical element and a metaphor. Through predominantly black and white pieces, Ian Indiano will explore themes of decay, transformation, and the elemental nature of carbon. The artworks, primarily created through photo collages translated into charcoal or graphite drawings, utilize both found images and Indiano's own photography. This installation not only plays with the physical properties of carbon, but also invites viewers to contemplate its broader symbolic meanings.

The opening reception for this installation will be taking place on July 20th, from 1 PM until 4 PM. The installation will be on view until September 28th.
