MEET YOUR GUIDES | FAQs

Free denver  tours.

Dear guests, friends, and family,

We've updated our operations as a result of the previous pandemic and we do now need to implement a reservation system . This is to help with:

Ensuring group sizes are smaller and within recommended maximums (our pre-pandemic, walk-up, no reservation free tours often had 50+ guests)

Scheduling extra guides on busier days to ensure you aren't turned away whenever possible due to the tours filling up

Allowing you to e-sign the waiver upon website checkout vs. taking time at the start of the tour and having lots of people touching the pen & paper.

To ensure we reach the 4 guest minimum. Tours with fewer than 4 guests will be cancelled and guests will be contacted with alternative options.

Communication: you're sent helpful tour information and your guide will text you the morning of your tour to ensure you have everything you need for a great tour day and our team has a way to reach you if the starting location needs to change due to an event at the Capitol or your guide has an emergency and there's a change to the departure time or a guide change.

While our 10 a.m. Denver downtown tours are operate under a pay-what-you-like tipping model, our third-party ticketing and booking system does have a $2.00 booking fee per guest. Thank you so much for your support and understanding, as this goes to TicketingHub, not Denver Walking Tours or your guide.

Cheers and we hope to see you soon!

Jill, Matt and the entire DWT team

Free Walking Tour Overview:

Join us in exploring Denver the best way possible: on foot and through our unique pay-what-you-wish model! We'll see and experience downtown Denver's unique sights, landmarks and history, plus hear the fun stories behind the landmarks that many locals don't even know. You’ll see and learn more in 2-2.5 hours than you thought possible!

We kick things off at the famous Mile High Steps of the Colorado State Capitol, then hit the streets to wind through the heart of downtown Denver for our walking cultural & history adventure. The tour will include 11 of our favorite sights, while digging into the great culture & history that make our Mile High City so unique. If you're the type that likes a little bit of everything - history, culture, art, & architecture - this is the tour for you! You’ll have plenty of time to chat with your guide, ask questions, take pictures, and learn more about the Mile High City, past and present! We'll explore Denver's gorgeous Civic Center, hip LoDo (Lower Downtown) and the famous Big Blue Bear, plus Larimer Square - the city’s oldest block, with historic architecture and landmark 19th century buildings. Carnegie Library, the eye-catching Art Museum complex, the Parisian-inspired Civic Center Park, and the famous U.S. Mint, where you'll hear some epic heist stories, are also on our route.

We give great recommendations and, along the way, enjoy plenty of time to chat with your guide, ask questions, take pictures, and learn more about the Mile High City, past and present,  than you thought possible in 2-2.5 hours! After your experience wraps up at the iconic Union Station, you decide how much the experience was worth to you (pay-what-you-wish) via a tip to your guide.

Additional Tour Info:

The front steps of the Colorado State Capitol face west, towards the mountains and towards Lincoln St.

Be sure to arrive by 9:50 a.m., at least 10 minutes prior to the tour departure time to meet your guide, check-in and introduce yourself. Tours do start and depart on time.

State Capitol address: 200 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO, 80203. You can use this address to guide you to the Capitol, but your GPS will likely take you to the north side of the building, NOT to the front steps and front of the building, so b e mindful to navigate to the front steps when you arrive.

Tours still operate rain, snow, or shine and when events are happening at the Capitol or in Civic Center Park, and there are events almost every weekend in our warmer months.

Your local tour guide will be wearing a neon yellow Denver Walking Tours shirt and in less than ideal weather they may also be carrying a small green Denver Walking Tours sign.

Denver Walking Tours does not charge an up-front price for our 10 a.m. walking tours - we operate on a "pay-what-you-wish" gratuity model. Why? We aim to make experiencing Denver accessible to all guests, regardless of budget, and we think that you should decide how much your Denver tour experience was worth to you and what your guide's time, talent and expertise were worth to you when your tour is finished and that what you choose to give should go directly to your guide.

With your local tour guide (Jill, Alyce, Brian, Jimmy, Anthony, or Janine) depending on the day you join us) working for gratuities only, you know we are going to go the extra mile to make sure that you have a GREAT Denver walking tour, enjoy your experience, learn something new, answer any questions you have, and give great local recommendations. If you enjoyed your tour experience, just tip your amazing guide what you feel their time was worth to you!

All ages are welcome!  Will your kid(s) like the downtown Denver tour and exploring LoDo and other areas of Denver? That really depends on your kiddo(s)! Our Denver sightseeing tours are suitable and designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Your guide is trained and experienced in working with youth. Youth ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Odds & Ends:

Wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Reservations are required. Reserve your spot here .

Parties of 7+ guests must book a private, pre-paid Denver tour , as our 10 a.m. tours are designed for individual visitors or small groups of six or less visitors to ensure a safe and engaging tour experience.

Frequently asked questions.

GuruWalk is an international community for pay-what-you-please walking tours that connects tourists with tour guides all around the world. Our mission is for you to be able to enjoy this type of tour in any place you can imagine.

The GuruWalk community is formed by "gurus" (local guides) who are open, attentive, fun people with great knowledge of the city and who will be your friends wherever you travel.

The other part of the community are the "walkers," or tourist who opt for this type of tour over the more traditional tours, who enjoy unforgettable experiences and most importantly, love to travel around the world doing guruwalks.

A "free walking tour" is a guided tour at a travel destination, where a local guide explains history, culture, and lifestyle. Currently, it is the first option that tourists choose when they visit a new city.

The concept can be a little confusing since "free" in English is a word that immediately makes you think free of cost. While becoming a part of the community, making a booking, or setting up a tour on the platform is 100% free, the traveler has to pay the guide at the end of the tour based on his experience. This concept is commonly referred to as a pay-what-you-please walking tour, because it empowers the client to pay based on their satisfaction with the tour and encourages the guide to always do their best.

At GuruWalk, we call them "guruwalks" so our walkers don’t get confused with the concept. Our intention is for them to understand the concept better and then give a fair remuneration to their Guru, so that we can all keep enjoying this type of tour all across the world.

Look for the city that you want to visit and then choose from all the guruwalks that are available, the different themed experiences, the different neighborhood and the various types of activities to find the best option for you. Book the tour for free through the online platform, receive the email confirmation with all the info and you’re ready to go!

All that’s left to do is show up to the guruwalk to enjoy and learn about other cultures in a fun and entertaining way. Don’t forget to tip your guru’s good work and have a great time.

The star question that the walkers always ask! You choose how much to give, you can take into consideration how satisfied you were with the tour and how much you can afford.

Our gurus are the best tour guides who are at it day after day, who are creating fun and entertaining tours so you can get to know the most important aspects of a city, they know a lot about the city you’re visiting and they’ll help you to have the trip of a lifetime.

This is why most walkers on GuruWalk generally give between 10 o 20€ per person, but as we said, you can choose to give more or less depending on your experience.

If you’d like to join our community of international gurus, all you have to do is click the link here. We’re waiting to get to know you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a free walking tour work.

Free walking tours are a special kind of tours in which the price is not set. The tours are not actually free, in the sense that the price is 0. They are “free” in the sense that you can pay as much as you like. Basically, after the tour, your guide will ask you to tip him based on how much you think the tour was worth.

How much is a fair tip for the guide?

There are different kinds of tours that require different skills and have different durations. There will be people paying €50 or €5, but in general, people pay between €10 and €15 per person (or the equivalent in local currency) for a 2-3 hours tour. If your tour lasts longer, or there are just few participants, it’s advisable to pay a bit more.

A comprehensive list of free virtual tours that will intrigue and delight all types of travel lovers. Discover the Seven Wonders of the World, visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites and iconic landmarks around the world from the comfort of your home! Experience your first virtual travel experience with us.

With extensive travel bans, citywide lockdowns and strict social distancing measures, it’s hard not to eventually let cabin fever weigh you down. This is especially true if you’ve got a healthy addiction to travel like us. So we’ve found a way around the problem – virtual travel!

Obviously it doesn’t replace the real thing, but it’s better than nothing. It’s also a great way to get travel inspiration and learn some interesting facts about the destination until we can travel again.

It will give you something positive to look forward to while we all do the responsible thing and #stayhome. Treat it like Facetiming the world!

It’s also a great thing to do with kids at home. They’ll especially love the wildlife live webcam feeds! This list is guaranteed to keep them occupied for days if not weeks!

So whether you love city escapes, exploring museums or learning interesting facts about the natural and man-made wonders around the world, there’s something for everyone.

Make sure you share this with your friends and family who love travelling too.

What Do You Need To Virtual Travel The World

Virtual touring the world is easy. All you need is a laptop, cellphone or tablet and an internet connection. You don’t need a VR set (virtual reality set), but if you have one it’s a bonus.

We recommend using Google Chrome web browser because some of these virtual tour websites are not in English. Chrome makes it really easy translating foreign languages to English or whatever language you prefer.

Lastly, have a little patience as some of these virtual tours take a bit longer to load.

New Seven Wonders Of The World Virtual Tour

Everyone’s heard of the Seven Wonders of the World. But did you know that there are two different lists for the 7 Wonders of the World?

No? We didn’t either. The list most people know is the New Seven Wonders of the World. But there’s also the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World.

Are you one of the those rare humans that can list all New 7 Wonders of the World?

virtual tour the 7 wonders of the world including great wall of china, christ the redeemer, chichen itza and petra

1. Great Wall of China

Often cited as the only human-made structure that is visible from space. The Great Wall of China is probably the most well known Wonder of the World. It captures over 2,000 years of history and stretches more than 21,000 km across several provinces in China. That’s as long as 5 times the length of Australia!

This iconic landmark is usually teemed with tourists all year round. But you can visit it crowd-free on this Great Wall of China virtual tour.

2. Chichen Itza, Mexico

The ancient city of Chichen Itza is one of the most well restored Mayan sites in Mexico and also its biggest tourist attraction. El Castillo may be the most famous pyramid of Chichen Itza, but there are many other ancient ruins to explore.

If you love astronomy, you’ll love learning how each structure was intricately designed to align with specific planets and stars. Sounds fascinating?

You can virtually tour Chichen Itza and explore some of its most popular sites and facts right from the comfort of your own home.

3. Christ The Redeemer, Brazil

The cultural icon of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and a symbol of Christianity across the world. The Christ The Redeemer statue is the largest art deco statue in the world. It stands 38 meters tall (around 13 storeys high) and stretches 28 meters wide.

It was built by the Roman Catholic community of Brazil following the end of World War I. The community was concerned about the growing ‘godlessness’ when Brazil officially became a republic and the church was officially separated from the state.

You can skip the 200+ step climb to the top on this stunning virtual tour of Cristo Redentor .

4. Petra, Jordan

Also known as the ‘Carved City’ or the ‘Lost City’, Petra is known as one of the oldest cities in the world. It is estimated that the city was established in the 4th century (312 BC) but was only discovered by Western civilisation in the 1800s.

Only 15% of Petra has been explored by archaeologists, so not much is known besides it being home to about 800 tombs.

It’s simply one of those places that you have to see to believe that it exists in real life. Petra is still on our travel bucket list, but this virtual tour is probably one of our favourites!

machu picchu, rome colosseum and taj mahal virtual travel experience

5. Taj Mahal, India

One look at the Taj Mahal and it’s easy to see why it’s a wonder. It’s considered to be one of the most magnificent masterpieces of architecture in the world. Besides that, it’s also a symbol of love. Don’t believe us? See the Taj Mahal in VR for yourself.

The emperor built it in remembrance of his third wife who passed away giving birth to their 14th child. Today the couple remains buried together beneath the main inner chamber of the Taj Mahal.

It took more than 22,000 workers, 1,000 elephants and 22 years to build this incredible structure. Now there are concerns that it will crumble into pieces as its wooden foundations are rotting away.

6. Rome Colosseum, Italy

Did you know that Italy has the most number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world? There are a total of 51 World Heritage sites within Italy of which the Colosseum is the most famous.

Historically, the Colosseum was a place where gladiator fights and executions took place in Ancient Rome. Today it stands as a symbol of power and majesty of the Roman Empire. It’s also one of the most popular tourists attraction in the world.

7. Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu is famous for being the Lost City of the Incas. It is believed that this is where the Incas escaped to when the Spanish conquistadors arrived in the 16th century.

Besides its historical significance, Machu Picchu also showcases the Incas’ incredible mastery of stone. The stones used to construct some of the most beautiful structures in Machu Picchu were cut so precisely and wedged so closely together, that a credit card cannot be inserted between them.

Not only was this more aesthetically pleasing, it also has engineering advantages. The stones were designed to bounce through earthquake tremors and fall back into place. This was only possible because no mortar (or cement) was used and the reason why Machu Picchu still stands today.

Virtual Tours of Top UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Top unesco sites in africa.

famous unesco world heritage sites in africa include the drakensberg mountains, great pyramids of egypt and kilimanjaro

8. The Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt

The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the most famous landmarks around the world. Its sheer colossal size and perfect symmetry makes you wonder how this world icon was constructed more than 4,500 years ago.

Today, the Pyramids of Giza are the only surviving members of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World.

9. Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania

Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes in the world and also home to Africa’s highest mountain.

If you love hiking as much as we do, then Kilimanjaro is probably on your bucket list too. Close to 35,000 people attempt to hike Mount Kilimanjaro every year. But only 40% of them successfully reach the summit and around 5 to 15 people die every year attempting it.

There isn’t a proper virtual tour of Kilimanjaro , but you can get some awesome 360 panoramic views using Google Map street views. Just drag the little yellow man to the circles on the map to ‘explore’ the area.

10. Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa

Not only is the Drakensberg Mountains a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, it’s also a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site. Drakensberg is culturally significant because it hides more than 20,000 San rock paintings inside its nooks and crevices.

These rock paintings are important because they represent the earliest form of human creativity. They also symbolise the beginning of art in the world today.

We’ve had the privilege of hiking the Drakensberg Mountains when we lived in South Africa. If you plan to hike it too, make sure you read our top Drakensberg hiking trails of the Royal Natal National Park . We also share tips on how you can hike the Drakensberg with children .

Since that’s not possible right now, you can enjoy the magnificence of the Drake nsberg on this beautiful virtual tour.

Top UNESCO Sites in Asia

world heritage sites in asia like bagan, angkor wat, terracotta army in china

11. Bagan, Myanmar

Bagan is known as the ‘sea of temples’ because it has the largest concentration of Buddhist temples in the world. There were originally 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries built here in the 1000s and 1100s. But only 2,000 of them still exist today.

Needless to say that the entire Bagan Archaeological zone is too vast to explore by foot alone. You can compliment your walk with a ride on old rickety bicycles, hot balloon rides or on this mind blowing virtual tour of Bagan .

12. Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Angkor Wat is famous for being the largest religious monument in the world. Yes, it’s even bigger than Bagan! Before the fall of Angkor Wat in the 15th century, it was actually the largest city in the world.

Unlike Bagan, most of Angkor Wat still exists today. It was built with durability in mind because it was designed and dedicated to the immortal gods.

13. Terracotta Army, China

This World Heritage Site isn’t a temple, but a mass grave. It’s the burial ground for the First Emperor of China and his world renowned Terracotta Army.

No one knows exactly how many terracotta warriors were made. But it’s been estimated that more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses were sculpted. And if that wasn’t amazing enough, each soldier has its own distinct facial features and were all built to life-size.

It took around 40 years to ‘build’ the entire army and its sole purpose was for protecting the emperor in his afterlife.

You can wander between these soldiers yourselves on this Terracotta Warrior virtual tour.

Top UNESCO Sites in Europe

14. Acropolis of Athens, Greece

‘Acropolis’ translates into ‘high city’ in Greek. Most cities in ancient Greece had their city centres built on a mound or a hill. This is where they would build their important temples and where citizens could retreat to if under attack.

The most famous acropolis of Greece is, of course, the one in Athens with the iconic Pantheon dominating its skyline. The Acropolis of Athens has withstood the test of time, including bombardments, earthquakes and vandalism. Yet it still stands today as a reminder of the rich history of Greece.

15. Stonehenge, United Kingdom

Also known as the Bronze Age Ring of Standing Stones, Stonehenge is one of the UK’s most unique sites and visited attractions. It’s a prehistoric monument steeped in all kinds of myth and speculation because no one knows its true origin or purpose.

Some believe that Stonehenge was a Druid temple, built by ancient Celtic pagans as a centre for their religious worship. Others believe it to have astronomical significance as the light from sunrise and sunset aligns with the stones during summer and winter solstice.

Why don’t you decide for yourself based on the interesting facts you’ll learn on this Stonehenge virtual tour.

16. Mesa Verde National Park, USA

17. Mayan Ruins of Tikal, Guatemala

At first glance, the Mayan Ruins of Tikal appears to be quite similar to the ruins of Chichen Itza. They were both major cities in the history of the Mayan civilisation and are both declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The biggest difference between the two is that Tikal is less visited and often less crowded compared to the more popular Chichen Itza. That’s because Tikal is located in the remote Guatemalan forests whereas Chichen Itza is much easier to access.

Some areas of Tikal remain unmapped or excavated too. So if you love hidden gems, make sure you visit the Mayan Ruins of Tikal , even if it’s only by virtual tour for now.

18. Easter Island, Chile

Easter Island is a Chilean island in the south Pacific Ocean. It’s famous for its 900+ giant statues known as Moais, which are scattered around the entire island.

It is believed that the Rapa Nui natives built these Moais to honour chieftains and important individuals from their village. They believed that by doing this, the spirit of the person would forever watch over the tribe and bring good fortune.

Today, Easter Island is believed to be the most remote inhabited island in the world. That’s why it’s also very expensive to get to. But have no fear, you can admire Easter Island virtually until then.

Ten Museums You Can Virtually Visit

Museums are closing their doors amid the coronavirus crisis, but many offer digital exhibitions visitors can browse from the comfort of home

Vatican (mobile)

Nadine Daher

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, museums and cultural institutions across the globe are closing their doors to the public. But while visitors can no longer roam the halls of these institutions, virtual tools and online experiences mean anyone with an internet connection can browse world-class collections from home.

The Smithsonian Institution , of course, has its own array of virtual tours, experiences and educational resources . Among the other experiences on offer: Scroll through an extensive trove of 3-D photographs from the Minneapolis Institute of Art , explore online exhibits from the National Women’s History Museum in Virginia, or admire artistic masterpieces from the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Spain. Additionally, around 2,500 museums and galleries, including the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, are offering virtual tours and presenting online collections via the Google Arts and Culture portal.

For those in search of armchair travel inspiration, Smithsonian magazine has compiled a list of ten museums that have found new ways to fulfill their critical mission of cultivating creativity and spreading knowledge.

The Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

Home to the world’s second largest private collection of art, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza owns masterpieces by giants of virtually every art movement—to name just a few, Jan van Eyck, Titian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Picasso and Dalí. To spotlight these artistic treasures, the Madrid museum offers an array of multimedia resources . Users can take a virtual tour of the entire building (or a thematic tour covering such topics as food, sustainability, fashion and even “inclusive love”); browse current and closed exhibits ; and watch behind-the-scenes videos featuring interviews, lectures and technical studies.

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea

National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea

Committed to offering a culturally rewarding experience since opening its doors in 2013, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul (MMCA) has established itself as a prominent cultural platform and leader in Korean art. In collaboration with Google Arts and Culture, the MMCA is now offering a virtual tour of its collections. This experience takes visitors through six floors of modern and contemporary art from Korea and around the world. Those seeking an educational walkthrough can follow along by tuning into curator-led recorded tours.

The Anne Frank House

Anne Frank House

The Anne Frank House , established in cooperation with the famed diarist’s father, Otto, in 1957, strives to inform the public through educational programs and tours of the building where the teenager and her family hid during World War II. To delve deeper into the story detailed in Frank’s diary, online visitors can watch videos about her life; virtually explore the Secret Annex ; look around the house where she lived before going into hiding; and view the Google Arts and Culture exhibition “ Anne Frank: Her Life, Her Diary, Her Legacy .”

The Vatican Museums

10 Best Online Tour Booking Sites To List Your Tours, Activities and Experiences.

When you’re in the business of selling tours, the most important thing to do is get your service seen by the right people. But where and how do you find your audience? Matt Davison of  Travel Tractions gives his insights.

free for tour

When you’re in the business of selling tours, the most important thing to do is get your service seen by the right people. But where and how do you find your audience?

Thankfully, the web is already filled with online tour booking sites where tour operators (or  tourpreneurs ) can list and sell their tours. There’s a long list of these places.

You’ll find area-specific sites, as well as tour websites for specific niches. So where do you start when it comes to Online Tour Booking Sites?

Running your own tour business is hard, there are a million and one things to do, so it’s important to focus on what works. We’re a big fan of the 80/20 rule, so we’ve handpicked this list offering 10 of the best Online Tour Booking Sites These sites target audiences from around the world and offer the best opportunities to get your tours seen and booked by thousands of people each month.

These sites target audiences from around the world and offer the best opportunities to get your tours seen and booked by thousands of people each month.

These OTAs are not listed in ranking order. You decide which is the best online tour booking site (OTA) for you.

GetYourGuide

The site lists all kinds of tours, from all over the world, from city passes to guided walking tours.

You do need a legally operating business as well as an insurance policy. It’s free to sign up and list your tours, and commission is only paid on successful bookings. The website has helpful resources for tourpreneurs to upload, edit, and manage their listed tours.

Sign up here:  https://supplier.getyourguide.com/

Viator and Tripadvisor Experiences

The great thing about signing up with Viator is that they’re connected to Tripadvisor Experiences as well. So you’re getting two listings in one.

On these platforms, everyone is welcome. So even smaller tourpreneurs stand the chance to benefit from the 350 million visitors each month. They also offer some pretty  handy features . On Viator, you also get full control of your tours. Images, descriptions, and your price (minus the commission) is added by you.

Sign up here:  https://supplier.viator.com/sign-up-info

Another big site to list your tours on is Expedia. They see over 140 million visitors each month and have a considerable portfolio which includes Travelocity and Orbitz.

Expedia has what they call Destination Managers, who will contact you and approve your listing. They’re also available to help you with the process, great if you’re not familiar with it. For every tour booked on their platform, Expedia takes a percentage in commission.

Sign up here:  https://join.localexpertpartnercentral.com/signup

Airbnb Experiences

Airbnb has already allowed many people to open their homes, meet travelers, and make some money along the way. Now, passionate tourpreneurs can list on Airbnb Experiences.

Almost anyone can start here, so if you’re an aspiring tourpreneur this may be your chance. You do, however, need to fit in with the  Airbnb standards . You can add your tours for free, but there is a 20% service fee on each experience booked.

Sign up here:  https://www.airbnb.co.za/host/experiences

Musement offers 24-hour support to all of their tourpreneurs, as well as a straightforward platform to advertise your tours.

You have control over your listings, and can add and edit tours whenever you need to. And the website works to translate all of the text as well.

This site also offers free sign up and only takes a commission on successful bookings. They’ll give you a personal account manager, too. So you’ll always have help and advice when needed.   Sign up here:  https://business.musement.com/register/

This one is a little more tricky. While TourRadar offers fantastic opportunities for many tourpreneurs, they’re not  always  ready to accept new listings. They do have a waiting list, though, which is worth signing up to.

Once you’re accepted, your tours will benefit from the 3 million monthly website visits and 2 million email subscribers. They also have great customer service, and their app makes things smoother as well.

Sign up (or join the waiting list) here:  https://operators-news.tourradar.com/list-your-tours

If you’re a new tourpreneur, just starting out, this may be the exact platform for you. WithLocals matches local tour guides with tourists visiting their cities. Their list of tour operators includes freelancers and established local agencies.

Their tours are big in Asia and Europe, but they’ve started branching out to the rest of the world as well. You won’t pay the site for listing your tour, a charge is made to the users who book instead.

Sign up here:  https://www.withlocals.com/become-a-host/

Klook started – and has become quite popular – in Asia. But now, they’re expanding globally. While there are still a few destinations not yet reached, it’s just a matter of time.

They target an audience of visitors to both Asia and parts of Europe, with quite a chunk of users being in the USA. They also have a convenient mobile app which makes things so much easier for both partners and customers.

When you sign up for free to their partner program, you’ll be contacted by one of the team to discuss a commission structure. It’s still a very personal experience.

Sign up here:  https://www.klook.com/partner/

Thrillophilia

Award-winning and far-reaching, Thrillophilia provides a space for your tours to be seen by millions of travelers. They’re well-known and loved by both users and partners.

There are many categories for tours, including a range of activities, day tours, and even rentals. So there’s bound to be a spot for your tours. A definite bonus of listing with them is their convenient mobile app, allowing tours to be booked and managed on the go.

Sign up here:  https://www.thrillophilia.com/suppliers/

Adrenaline Hunter

For tours that offer excitement and action, Adrenaline Hunter is the best place to list them. They list everything from shark diving to rock climbing, in over 100 countries.

Get your tours seen by more than 400,000 visitors each month and benefit from a global audience. You’ll have full control over your guests and their bookings, including the ability to approve and decline bookings.

Sign up here:  https://providers.adrenaline-hunter.com/en-GB/

Time To Start Your Tour Advertising & Selling

This list is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many channels of distribution in the tourism industry, you just have to know which ones to use. Sites like Getyourguide, Viator, Tourradar are great starting points.

The fantastic thing about listing your tours online is that you don’t have to pick just one. None of the above-mentioned tour sites holds you to any contract which prohibits you from listing your tours anywhere else.

So take a few hours and list your tours on as many as you can. You’ll get more exposure and have a much higher chance of securing bookings.

London, once the center of a vast empire, this capital city remains the political, cultural & economic heart of Britain - a modern, multi-cultural metropolis at the fore of style, fashion, art, music, theater, creativity and commerce and rich in important history, heritage & character.

London's historical legacies & cultural heritage is exemplified beautifully on her streets, from winding medieval cobble-stoned paths and ancient structures like Tower Bridge & Tower of London to majestic buildings like Buckingham Palace & Houses of Parliament. Last Updated: Jul 12, 2024 by Max · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

When planning a trip that includes a layover at Incheon , you were probably excited to learn about the option to take an Incheon Airport free transit tour. These tours offer a chance to explore Korea's history, culture, daily life, and even go shopping opportunities without too much time or effort on your part.

Right now the nearly dozen government-run transit tours range from short 1-hour jaunts to longer 5-hour excursions, giving you plenty of options to choose from, depending on your layover duration. With themes like entertainment, hands-on experiences, nature walks, and traditional Korean sites , there's an option for every interest, most of which are kid-friendly.

As you prepare for your trip, also keep in mind that you can only join one tour per layover, and you'll need a valid visa or an approved K-ETA to join a free Incheon layover tour, regardless of your reservation status.

📝 Korea Visa Information

Apply for a k-eta.

Before joining an Incheon Airport transit tour , you must have a valid visa or an approved K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization), even if you make a reservation online. The good news is that there's a temporary exemption of K-ETA for travelers coming from 22 countries/regions between April 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024, making a layover tour even easier for many visitors.

To apply for a K-ETA , follow these simple steps:

  • Visit the K-ETA official website and create an account.
  • Fill out the required personal information and travel details.
  • Pay the processing fee (if applicable) and submit your application.
  • Check your email for the K-ETA approval notification within 48 hours.

Remember that Incheon Airport tours are subject to seasonal availability and run on set schedules, so make sure to check the eligibility criteria and any restrictions for your chosen tour. When planning for a shorter layover (under 4 hours), keep in mind the duration of the tour and the time it takes to get through customs at the airport.

🤔 About Incheon Airport Transit Tours

Korea transit tour overview.

During your layover at Incheon Airport, tour offerings both within and away from the airport can give you a taste of Korean history, culture, and daily life. Available options include a short 4-hour Glimpse into North Korea Tour, as well as various full-day tours from Incheon Airport to Seoul.

To reserve a spot on a free Korea transit tour, you can visit the official transit tour website and pick out one that works for your schedule and sign up right then. Keep in mind that you will still have to complete the K-ETA process to enter Korea for these transit tours, so this does not take the place of a visa or K-ETA.

Also note that even if the booking system says that a tour is sold out, you can always just join the exact same tour when you arrive, as they allot less than half the available spaces to the online booking system. Each tour is covered in more detail below, as well as on the official site linked above.

Free Shuttle Bus

As part of the Incheon transit tour offerings, they also provide a complimentary shuttle bus service for passengers. To board the free shuttle bus, simply show your tour reservation and ticket to the driver.

Remember to double-check the shuttle bus schedule and plan your tour accordingly to ensure you have enough time to enjoy your layover tour before returning to the airport. During your time outside the airport, please also make sure to explore responsibly and always follow local rules and regulations.

✔️ How to Reserve a Free Government Tour

  • Choose the tour you prefer from the available options.
  • Fill out the reservation form with the required details. This form will need your personal information and your flight details.
  • After successfully submitting the reservation form, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Print this email and bring it with you on the day of your tour.

On-Site Registration

If you didn't get to book your tour online, don't worry. You can still register on-site at Incheon Airport. Here's what you need to do:

  • Depending on which Terminal you're from, go to the Free Transit Tour Information Desk. Both terminals have these desks on each floor's east and west wings, except for the first floor, where a single desk stands exactly in the middle of the public area (near Exit 8 for T1 and Exit 3 for T2).
  • Choose your preferred tour from the available options. Remember that the tour availability is subject to change based on the time and date.
  • Provide your personal information and travel details to the staff.
  • They’ll confirm your registration and provide you with any necessary information about the tour.

💲 PAID Layover Tours From Incheon Airport

If none of the free transit tours from Incheon Airport to Myeongdong or elsewhere actually interests you or fits your schedule, there are a number of paid tours you can reserve ahead of time. These are also better for larger groups (6 people or more), as some of them can be customized or even just chosen to fit everyone's tastes.

Viator Private Seoul Layover Tour

For those with DIY tastes, Viator offers a private layover tour to Seoul which includes a guide, transportation for the duration of your tour, and visits to top attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Namsangol Hanok Village.

Admission fees are included in the price of the tour, but if you want to go to any other stops nearby, you must coordinate it in advance.

DMZ and Observatory Tour

Viator also offers a more intense but even more short DMZ tour with a trip to the famous tunnels dug by North Korea. It takes you to explore the Korean Demilitarized Zone more hands-on, though Viator also offers a version of the DMZ tour with a North Korean defector .

This particular DMZ tour takes you to several of the most important sites during the war, including the Third Tunnel and the Dora Observatory, though it does not take you to the JSA. Note that stops are also carefully regulated, so no schedule changes are permitted.

Gondola DMZ Tour

Viator also offers a more family-friendly DMZ tour with a Gondola ride and a trip to the DMZ Museum rather than crawling around in the actual tunnels.

This particular tour of the DMZ also takes you an observatory in Paju, the town along the border, where you cna buy North Korean-made products and look at the DPRK through a telescope, though more bespoke DMZ tours are also available .

Private Seoul Tour w/ Meal

Somewhat comparable to the tour from Viator, GetYourGuide also offers a private layover tour from Incheon Airport that generally includes a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace and a few nearby attractions. However this option includes a traditional Korean meal, and is generally more customizable than other options, meaning it can be tailored to your or the group's interests.

Korean Folk Village Tour

Another option through GetYourGuide is the Korean Folk Village tour, which takes you to a living museum where you can experience traditional Korean life. This tour includes a visit to the museum's various exhibits and performances, and shows you a stark contrast to the many skyscrapers dotting the city.

If you're planning to strike out on your own for your layover, taking the Seoul Metro to the city center is your best bet. This is both because it's cheaper and because it won't be as affected by traffic as the other options, with the exception of the Airport Railroad (caught from the same place).

Both Terminal 1 (제1여객터미널) and Terminal 2 (제2여객터미널) at Incheon Airport have access to the metro lines, with Terminal one ever-so-slightly closer to the city. The travel time from the airport to Seoul is approximately an hour to an hour and a half, depending on where you're headed, and the time between trains is around 10-12 minutes.

Airport Railroad (Faster)

The Airport Railroad (AREX) is another convenient way to get to Seoul from Incheon Airport, though it's slightly more expensive than the regular metro. It has two types of trains: the express train and the all-stop train, both of which are still faster than the regular trains.

The express train directly connects the airport to Seoul Station, with a travel time of approximately 43 minutes, while the all-stop train stops at sevral stations and takes just under an hour to reach Seoul Station. Both types of trains can be boarded at boarding gates in Terminals 1 and 2, so buy your train or metro ticket carefully.

Airport Limousine (Slower)

You can also choose to take an Airport Limousine bus to reach your destination in Seoul, which is actually how I first went into the city when I moved to Korea. It sounds bougie, but they're not actually limos; they're nice buses which offer a comfortable ride to designated stops throughout the city.

The tickets are affordable and the stops include several popular tourist areas and major hotels. While the distance and travel time may vary depending on your destination, you can expect a journey of approximately 60 to 80 minutes unless there's traffic (I'd recommend taking the metro if you'll be leaving the airport between 4pm-6pm).

Taxi into Seoul (Expensive)

If you prefer a more direct and private mode of transportation, you can always take a taxi into Seoul. There are taxi stands located outside both terminals, and depending on the distance and traffic conditions, a taxi ride into the city can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

Keep in mind that this option is generally the most expensive among all methods of transportation from the airport, and many locals now exclusively use the Kakao Taxi app to call for rides, so some of the taxis may be claimed quickly. Just look for the red sign in the taxi window.

In addition to these transportation options, if you need to get between the terminals, there's a shuttle train service that operates from 4:45am to 11:30pm, with roughly 6 to 8 minutes between trains.

free for tour

The PGA Tour makes its way to Castle Rock, Colorado, this weekend for the BMW Championship, with a share of a $20 million purse up for grabs, as well as places in next week's Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The 50 remaining players in the playoffs will take on the demanding Castle Pines Golf Club, which sits at 6,000 feet above sea level, with only the top 30 set to make the trip to East Lake next weekend.

Despite a poor season by his standards, reigning BMW champion and 2023 FedEx Cup winner Viktor Hovland   heads   into the second leg of the playoffs with a chance of defending his title, while Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele currently find themselves in first and second in the standings.

How to watch the BMW Championship 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN

If you cannot view the tournament locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the tournament. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming the BMW Championship 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble getting the tournament after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Chris Shiflett has taken a Superstrat on tour with Foo Fighters to divebomb in solos

C hris Shiflett is playing a new custom electric guitar on tour with the Foo Fighters, having originally been inspired to test out the rule-breaking six-string by Richie Sambora.

Playing in the Foo Fighters with Dave Grohl is no doubt a dream gig for thousands of musicians, but Shiflett has joked his latest touring guitar may be deemed “illegal” under Grohl’s leadership.

He’s revealed to Premier Guitar that he’s been playing a Charvel-style custom Superstrat on tour with the stadium rockers and has been putting it to good use, abusing its Floyd Rose tremolo and treating his guitar solo on Breakout to some dive bombs – even if that goes against Foo Fighters tradition.

Maybe Mr. Grohl has let the left-field guitar choice slide, as it represents the realization of a longtime dream for Shiflett.

“I always wanted to put together a Superstrat,” he says. “So I did that! I brought it out on tour. I mean, that is so illegal in the Foo Fighters but I’ve slipped it in just a little bit without asking!”

Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora – who has twice featured on the guitarist’s Shred With Shifty podcast – and his own employment of a Charvel with a reverse headstock during one of their conversations is partly responsible for Shiflett's shift.

The guitar used by Sambora during his chat with Shiflett was a signature model, but the Foo Fighter was unable to recall whose while speaking to Premier Guitar – evidence suggests it was Henrik Danhage’s Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 .

The connection between the Evergrey guitarist and the Foo Fighters may seem tenuous, but it inspired a thought in Shiflett's mind.

After sourcing some components for his Eddie Van Halen-inspired creation online, Shiflett tasked Eric Chaz at Ernie’s Guitars in Van Nuys, California, with piecing the parts together.

“I brought it out because there’s a section in the show where Dave introduces everybody, and everybody does a little something, and I sorta worked that in to do a little homage to some of my favorite players,” Shiflett explains of his decision to use the Superstrat on tour.

“I’ll do a little taste of Randy Rhoads, a little bit of Eruption , and a little bit of Thunderstruck , AC/DC, and so I wanted to bring that guitar with me so I could do some tremolo bar dives and stuff.”

The guitar has been given a neat relic’d shell pink finish, and Shiflett's name can be found on the headstock. But all that effort to build a Superstrat just for a small noodle each night seemed too much.

“After getting it out here,” he goes on, “I don’t want to throw it on for just that and then take it off, so I put it on for the song just ahead of that – we usually do Breakout . And then I started doing some divebombs in Breakout just to see if anyone in the band noticed.”

Thus far, his whammy bar acrobatics have gone largely unnoticed, or at least been quietly accepted, by his bandmates.
