Cornwall guide: where to stay, eat and drink

Cornwall guide where to stay eat and drink

When it comes to the UK's most popular staycation destinations – throughout the year – Cornwall is always up at the top, which is why it's important to have a Cornwall guide that's just as suitable for an October long weekend as it is for a two-week stay in the summer. With plenty of coastline to inland scenery to choose from, here are a few red-hot tips for your visit to Kernow.

Where to stay...

Surely when you go on holiday – minibreak or two-weeker – the last thing you want is for your chosen location to have a home-like feel to it? Not if you’re staying at Three Mile Beach in one of its 15 beach houses, because they are the definition of laid-back luxury. By that, we mean you have your own wood-barrel sauna, sunken hot tub, barbeque and outdoor deck to do as you please; there’s the option of a private chef coming to cook for you (shout out to Rupert Cooper, who’s trained under Paul Ainsworth and Rick Stein, and uses local produce only) or you can throw a pizza party, with an oven and all the yummy ingredients required delivered to you. The eating options don’t end there as its gastro beach bar Chomp is a lot of fun in the summer months and really brings out the community spirit that comes with staying at Three Mile Beach, as kids and dogs are just as welcome.

Houses sleep from 4-10 people, are quaintly named after famous songs like ‘Rocket Man’, and are decked out like a surfer’s dream – mounted surfboards overhead, lots of coloured patterns and hippy Glasto-like decor too. All the rooms feel nice and spacious, and the right side of lived-in and cosy with lots of chill out areas to sit and read if that tickles your fancy. Other little luxuries include a banging barista on tap by reception for a decent coffee in the morning, and there’s a signpost to London (246 miles), which helps to make you feel like you are very far away from life’s daily grind.

Arguably the greatest luxury is its location. Being set a couple of hundred metres back from one of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches (Gwithian), there is endless opportunity to get out and explore the iconic nature close by. Be it late October or mid summer, Global Boarders next door offers surfing lessons for all abilities (as well as board and wetsuit hire) if you’re feeling stoked, and the instructors also do a coasteering experience at Mousehole, which is highly recommended. In terms of less active things to do, nearby St Ives has an unreal art scene and is definitely worth a visit.

And from this year, Three Mile Beach has a couple of new additions – some beach shacks that accommodate larger groups to amp up the fun holiday vibes. All in all, you can’t go wrong with a stay here.

The Cornish hotel which hosted last year's G7 summit – and Cornwall’s former hotel of the year – has long been a destination in its own right, but the addition of their stunning beach lodges has taken their St Ives experience to a new level, with hot tubs, roof and beach gardens, private sundecks and bay-facing balconies. St Ives bay is just around the corner, it's a short walk from the hotel, meaning you get the best of both Carbis's extraordinary sandy stretch and the picturesque seaside town all at once. Do not leave without having dinner at The Ugly Butterfly, the hotel's newest eatery by renowned chef Adam Handling.

There are plenty of decent hotels in the county (check these out), but self-catering apartments are becoming the preferred choice for visitors who want more freedom, flexibility and privacy than hotels tend to offer. The Point At Polzeath is the perfect example. Situated close to Polzeath beach and just a couple of miles from Rock, The Point offers holiday homes and cottages, but it is the seven luxury two- and three-bedroom apartments that really stand out.

Positioned close to the golf course (the properties were built on the site of the old driving range) and designed to look like a wave, with views over the countryside towards the Atlantic and Pentire Island, the Scandi-style eco-apartments feature a reverse layout with open-plan living upstairs and bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor. They also feature floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies and underfloor heating. Close to the apartments, visitors will find a restaurant (staffed by ex-Rick Stein chefs) and a bar, a swimming pool, fitness centre, jacuzzi and sauna, plus tennis courts and the golf course.

Perched in a secluded spot just a few miles from St Ives, The Gunard's Head is a mustard yellow vision of home comfort and log fires overlooking Cornwall's rugged Atlantic coast. The rooms are cosy and well appointed, but it's really the food and warm service that will your stay truly memorable. At time of visiting the monkfish scampi with curry sauce was sublime. Overlooking the picturesque port town of Rock, St Enodoc is a light and airy hotel which will provide just the right level of comfort after a day of rock pooling or kayaking. St Enodoc's Brasserie – which, like much of the property, boasts spectacular sea views – is also particularly worthy of note. The teriyaki mackerel for starter would be our bet, as would the wreck fish cake for main.

Where to eat ...

Over the last 20 years Cornwall has been quietly building a serious gastro reputation. From Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Jude Kereama’s Kota in Porthleven, to the two-Michelin starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw (the best restaurant in the UK according to The Good Food Guide ) in Port Isaac, fine diners are well catered for. And it is getting better all the time. Here are 2019’s new stars…

Paul Ainsworth can seemingly do no wrong at the moment. He has two places in Padstow (his eponymous restaurant At No 6 and Rojano’s In The Square), plus the Mahé chef’s table and cookery school, but it is his new pub in Rock that is grabbing all the headlines at the moment. Ainsworth and his wife, Emma, took over the lease from Nathan Outlaw in the New Year and reopened it as The Mariners in May. And it is outstanding.

Image may contain Food

Pub food done as brilliantly as Tom Kerridge (there is a whitebait starter in his honour), beautiful views over the Camel estuary and a great selection of guest ales, no wonder visitors and locals already love it. From Cornish rarebit and fried buttermilk chicken on the small plates to a crispy fish hotdog (“The Dog’s Pollock”) and Goan masala curry on the large plates, every dish is winner. But save room for one of the custard-based desserts: we tried apple crumble, the “Pina Colada” and the steamed brown butter pudding, but it was The Mariners trifle that prompted serious spoon wars. At the start of this year, Great British Menu star Andrew Sheridan was the executive chef of the critically acclaimed Sosban in south Wales. However, when rising costs forced the restaurant to close, Sheridan jumped at the chance to move himself, his family and his entire brigade to Port Isaac to take over the newly refurbished Stargazy Inn. And Sheridan has certainly hit the ground running.

Inspired by local produce, he has created two tasting menus (a five-course and a seven-course, “with the dishes changed”, according to the boundlessly enthusiastic chef, “depending on what’s in season or what the fishermen catch”) that are creative and original, but which never tries to overshadow the ingredients that he is serving. Highlights include a diver-caught scallop, lamb with cauliflower and his signature banana rice pudding. Make sure you try his exceptional cheese board, with some brilliant flavour pairings. Oh, and his classic Cornish saffron bun. Cornwall’s next big thing. 1 The Terrace, Port Isaac, Cornwall PL29 3SG. 01208 811516. stargazyinn.co.uk

You’re in Cornwall, you are going to eat fish and chips. I think that’s a law down there. And there are an awful lot of places to choose from, obviously. And what you are probably thinking is that you really don’t need to eat Rick Stein’s fish and chips because they are going to be overpriced and you’ve read that they charge for condiments. Well, compared to most places in the south-west they are more expensive and you do pay for tartare sauce, ketchup etc. But bloody hell, it might actually be worth it.

Situated close to Padstow harbour, you can choose to take away or eat in the restaurant. Whichever you choose, you are in for a treat. Go for the haddock or the hake: the batter is crisp and super-crunchy, the chips are chunky and crisp from beef dripping and that mayonnaise and tartare you begrudge paying for is handmade and utterly delicious. Plus, they make the best mushy peas anywhere. Yes, it’s gonna cost you, but you are on your holidays, you won’t be disappointed and dear old Rick is still sum bladdy boy (as they say in these parts). GQ Food & Drink Award shortlisted chef Tom Sellers is taking Restaurant Story to St Ives for the summer. Think of it like a six-week residency, a rock-star cook in concert. Sellers has created five- and six-course tasting menus that will delight fans of his innovative cooking skills and make the most of local ingredients, including Cornish lobster and Cornish lamb.

As well as serving incredible food, Sellers has also partnered with Parley with the aim of removing 50 metric tonnes of plastic from the area. Carbis Bay Estate, St Ives, Cornwall TR26 2NP. 01736 795311. carbisbayhotel.co.uk

The team behind London’s Primeur, Westerns Laundry and Jolene have taken their talents to Cornwall. Based in the small, increasingly popular ( Gordon Ramsay has a holiday home there) harbour town of Fowey (emmets take note: it is pronounced “Foy”, not “Fow-ey”), Fitzroy is spread over two floors, including a ten-cover kitchen counter and showcases the best local ingredients with fish at the top of the sharing plates menu.

“We’ll get our sardines from Mevagissey, just down the road, Fowey mussels, of course, and I’ll be catching mackerel off the rocks,” chef David Gingell (who grew up in Falmouth) told the Times . How can you say no to that? 2 Fore Street, Fowey, Cornwall PL23 1AQ. 01726 932934. fitzroycornwall.com

Venture over to the south coast and just down from Fowey is the small but utterly charming beach of Polkerris. For years, the old and iconic Rashleigh Inn was the only show in town (and it is still worth a visit), but they managed to squeeze in an alternative next door. If being in a bar by the sea isn’t quite doing it for you, how about being in one actually on the beach. The Watering Hole in Perranporth claims to be the only bar in the UK that fulfils that criteria, so it is worth a visit just for that. The Best Cornwall Road Trip Itinerary + Tips

Planning a cornwall road trip from beaches and great restaurants, to interesting attractions, this route takes in the best of the county..

cn traveller cornwall

If you haven’t been on a road trip around Cornwall yet, then what are you waiting for? When it comes to beautiful English counties, this one has it all. The beaches are some of the most spectacular in the country, with places like Kynance Cove and Fistral Beach attracting tourists from around the world.

There are cute towns and picturesque villages dotted all over Cornwall, with destinations such as St Ives and Port Isaac being a few of our top picks. Then there’s the food scene. Cornwall has access to some of the freshest fish and seafood in the country, so it’s hardly surprising so many top chefs have set up restaurants down here.

Beautiful views on a Cornwall road trip

Plus, there are some great attractions in the county too, including The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan to name a few. Whether you want to walk some of the South West Coast Path, enjoy plates of delicious seafood or fancy an adventure on the water, this Cornwall road trip itinerary has lots of great tips and recommendations.

Ready? It’s time to hop in the car and start exploring!

Overlooking Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall

The Perfect Cornwall Road Trip Itinerary

This trip can be as long or short as you’d like it to be. I’ve plotted out a route that groups places together based on location, but you could choose one section of this itinerary or plan more of a zigzag style trip from the north coast to the south coast if there are specific places you’re keen to see. If you need help choosing accommodation, I’d recommend looking at Cornish Holiday Cottages , where you’ll find lots of beautiful places to stay on your trip.

This stunning little Cornish village on the north coast of the county is a special place to begin our road trip! With dramatic sea views, ancient buildings and plenty of access to nature, walkers will enjoy exploring on foot.

If you’re interested in history, you’ve just got to visit Tintagel Old Post Office. One of the top National Trust houses in Cornwall , this stone farmhouse was constructed over 600 years ago. It’s wonderfully wonky, and feels like a hotch-potch of design from various periods of history.

Tintagel Old Post Office, Cornwall

I’d also recommend a trip to Saint Nectan’s Glen, a peaceful area of woodland close by. The highlight is St Nectan’s Kieve, a 60ft waterfall which gushes water through the rocks. Pack your wellies and you can even paddle through it for some awesome (and slightly damp) views!

If you’re looking for a walking route in Tintagel, you could go on a 5-mile circular route which starts at the Old Post Office and passes the church and Tintagel Castle (connected with the legend of King Arthur) before heading to the cliffs and then on to Trebarwith Strand Beach. Obviously the only way to finish a coastal jaunt like that is with fish and chips at the village pub!

Tintagel, Cornwall

Next on our Cornwall road trip we’re heading to a traditional fishing village that’s filled with wiggly cobbled streets, fisherman’s cottages and a charming harbour. As you’ll be travelling by car it’s worth noting that there’s no parking in the centre of Port Isaac. You’ll need to leave your car in the main car park at the top, then walk down the steep roads to the harbour area.

Port Isaac, Cornwall

The main draws here are the harbour and the skinny streets littered with seaside gift shops, pasty stores and fish restaurants. If you’re looking for a really special restaurant to dine at, I’d recommend checking out Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen or Outlaw’s New Road – top chef Nathan Outlaw’s two restaurants in the village.

Next up, we’re heading to Padstow – a town regarded as Cornwall’s foodie mecca! With its pretty harbour, candy-coloured houses and great views on the headland, it’s a gorgeous place to add into your Cornwall road trip itinerary. In fact, it’s one of our favourite places to visit in Cornwall .

Padstow Harbour, Cornwall

There’s a plethora of great restaurants, cafes, seafood bars, fish and chip shops and delis in Padstow, plus a cookery school run by Rick Stein. Before your visit I’d recommend you check out our guide to the best places to eat in Padstow , which includes Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth At No.6 (one of our favourite restaurants in Cornwall!)

Lamb main course at Paul Ainsworth At No.6, Padstow

Bedruthan Steps

Drive along the coast from Padstow towards Newquay and you can plan a stop at the incredible Bedruthan Steps . I think this is one of the best views in Cornwall. It’s just incredible!

Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall

I would have said you time your visit for when the tide is out so you can climb down the 120 steps to the beach and take in the immense scale of the rocks. However, there was a rock fall recently so the beach access has now been closed. Even from the cliff path there are really amazing views of the enormous jagged rocks .

There’s parking at the top, run by the National Trust , and from the car park it’s just a short walk down to the cliffs.

On the beach at Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall

Newquay is one of the hubs for family holidays in Cornwall. You can spend a day on the beach, learn to surf, enjoy some great food or simply explore the cute shops and cafes dotted around the town.

Fistral Beach, Newquay

I’d definitely recommend spending some time on Fistral Beach. Often regarded as one of the best beaches in Great Britain, it’s got a large area of sand and is known for its huge waves. It’s a surfer’s paradise, and over the summer you’ll see plenty of surf competitions taking place, including the World Surf League qualifying series at Boardmasters . If you’re looking for places to stay on your road trip, there are some great options in Newquay in our guide to the best luxury hotels in Cornwall .

Perranporth

You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to great beaches in Cornwall, but Perranporth is another of my favourites. There are three miles of golden sand, some decent waves and lots of interesting rock formations (including a rock archway) which kids will adore exploring. At low tide it’s fun climbing up the rocks and exploring the natural pools too.

Perranporth

There’s so much more to this fishing town than meets the eye. As well as being a gorgeous spot for a beach break, this quintessential Cornish town also has an arty, cultural side. Head to the Tate St Ives to peruse some great works of contemporary art.

St Ives

Alternatively pay a visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and wander around the gardens enjoying the stunning bronze artworks in amongst the plants and trees.

Beach in St Ives

In amongst the arty attractions you’ll also find plenty of nautical-themed fashion stores, gift shops, ice cream stores and restaurants serving up the freshest seafood.

Sennen Cove

If you’re looking for a great walking route, I’d recommend the three-mile route that runs from the spectacular beach at Sennen Cove all the way to geographical landmark Land’s End. This is a great trail for bird lovers, with cormorants, guillemots and kittywakes all spotted regularly, as well as larger birds of prey.

Sennen Cove

The beach at Sennen Cove is another that is popular with surfers – watch out for some big waves rolling in! After visiting Sennen you could continue on along the coast towards the Minack Theatre . If you want to see a show at this open-air theatre carved into the edge of the rock, be sure to book in advance.

Marazion and St Michael’s Mount

You might not be familiar with the name Marazion, but I bet you’ve heard of St Michael’s Mount! Marazion is the town in southwest Cornwall which lies opposite the famous island. While Marazion itself is lovely with cute seaside pubs and two lovely beaches, the big reason to stop by is to visit the island.

St Michael's Mount, Cornwall

In order to visit St Michael’s Mount you’ll need to book a timeslot (so the island doesn’t become too busy – after all only 25 people live there usually!) As it’s a tidal island, you can walk across the causeway at low tide. Once on land you can explore the 12th century castle and gardens along with the harbour village, where you’ll find shops and cafes.

Kynance Cove

So, you’ve seen some great beaches on your Cornwall road trip, but prepare for something super special! Kynance Cove is often regarded as one of the prettiest spots in the entire country. This tidal beach is famous for its white sand, turquoise sea and rock stacks which you can explore at low tide. There are some interesting caves too, with intriguing names such as The Parlour and The Drawing Room!

Kynance Cove, Cornwall

There’s a car park at the top and then it’s around 15 minutes to walk down to the beach. As this is such a beautiful spot, it gets extremely busy in peak summer. I’d recommend visiting out of peak season or arriving early in the morning.

alnwick garden

If you want to add in a walk in this region you can set off on a two-mile scenic walk to the southernmost point on the mainland, known as Lizard Point. In fine weather it looks almost tropical with bright turquoise waters and blue skies. Meanwhile, stormy weather creates dramatic scenes – so much so you’ll understand why they chose to build a prominent lighthouse on Lizard Point!

Lost Gardens of Heligan

After so much time by the coast, it’s time to take in a few of Cornwall’s key attractions. Located close to St Austell, the Lost Gardens of Heligan cover 200 acres. After World War I they were abandoned and gradually became overgrown. They were restored in the 1990s and are well worth seeing for yourself.

Giant ferns at the Lost Gardens of Heligan

The garden is particularly famous for its impressive collection of 70 veteran camellias and 350 ancient rhododendrons, some of which were planted back in the 1850s. If you’re green fingered you might want to grab a map so you can find out about the various plant species within the gardens.

The Eden Project

Continuing on inland on our Cornwall road trip, our final stop is at the world-famous Eden Project . The tropical domes have become iconic. Inside you’ll find the world’s largest rainforest in captivity with steamy jungles, waterfalls and even a canopy walkway that takes you above the treetops.

Eden Project, Cornwall

It’s a great place for all the family, and does an important job of educating those of all ages about the unique relationship mankind has with plants and trees. The Eden Project is also home to vast sculptures, beautiful outdoor gardens and England’s longest zipwire.

Things to think about before your Cornwall road trip

Before you work out the best route for your road trip through Cornwall, there are a few things you might want to bear in mind.

  • If you’re visiting in peak summer, think carefully about timings and where you’d like to visit. Lots of Cornish villages and beaches get very busy (especially when the sun is shining) so it’s a good idea to get up early and secure your parking space.
  • Similarly, pubs, restaurants and cafes can get very busy during the summer holidays. If there’s somewhere in particular you’re keen to visit, I’d recommend booking well in advance.
  • Some places require tickets. For example, if you’re thinking of visiting St Michael’s Mount, it’s worth booking your spot in advance.
  • Keep an eye on the weather forecast. It’s good to stay a little flexible as you might want to rejig your plans if there are some rainy days during your trip. If you’re looking for indoor activities, I’d recommend The Eden Project, the Tate St Ives or heading to one of Cornwall’s buzzy cities.
  • Prepare for narrow roads! Some of the roads leading to Cornwall’s beaches and fishing villages are narrow and windy.
  • Respect the locals and protect the landscapes. The locals are used to hordes of tourists invading every summer, but remember to be respectful during your trip. Always take your litter with you and be courteous to others.

I hope this post has given you lots of ideas to help you plan an amazing road trip through Cornwall. • Make Your Own Wedding Rings in Cornwall – Experience the processes that go into hand-making rings. as you work on your special unique rings. Choose to make your rings in silver or gold to your own design.
  • Cornwall is always very busy over the summer months. Easter and the holiday weekend at the end of May are also popular months to visit Cornwall. Book accommodation, car hire and attractions ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
  • Don’t miss the wonderful seafood – fish and chip shops are in abundance (Beware of the seagulls – they will try and steal your food and can be very aggressive)
  • Pack jeans and a sweater even during the summer months just in case the weather changes (it can be rainy and windy at any time of year)
  • We recommend hiring a car to get around Cornwall – while you can travel to Cornwall from London by train you will need a car to experience the best of Cornwall. Note that roads can be narrow and single lane. High hedges can also restrict views so drive very carefully.
  • Check tides before heading to the beach – and also pay attention to incoming tides. Pack your swimming costume, sunglasses and sunblock – swim where there are lifeguards.
  • Check opening times for popular destinations such as the Eden Project. Tintagel and St Michael’s Mount. Also check the weather as this can impact accessibility to some attractions.

Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow review

Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow review

First impression Opulence of grandstand proportions. Staff Serious, rigorous and dressed in red. Food and drinks Quirky and globetrotting. Bed and bath French classical, floral and cosy. The crowd The bold, the business-like and the beautiful. In a nutshell An architectural icon with front-row views of Russia’s White House.

Set the scene An Art Deco wedding cake on the river, its tiers leading ever upwards, while at ground level red-carpet steps trip-trap to a collection of grand rooms as serene as an art gallery. And it might as well be a gallery, with its collection of 1,200 pieces from prominent Soviet artists. Most notable is a circular Fifties mural on the lobby ceiling known as ‘Festival of Labour and Harvest in Hospitable Ukraine’, which stars as the backdrop for many a photo.

Romantic Suite at Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow

What's the story? When World War II ended, Stalin wanted something that would make post-war Moscow look seriously impressive, so he commissioned the Seven Sisters, or the Stalinist Skyscrapers – a group of Gotham City-esque buildings comprising two hotels, a university, a business centre, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and two residencies that provided free housing to ballerinas and others. Hotel Ukraina, as it was then, was once the tallest hotel in Europe . It was updated by the Radisson group in 2010 and became part of the Radisson Collection in 2019, but it has lost none of its original Soviet splendour.

What can we expect in our room? Standard rooms are cosy, with floral wallpaper and French-inspired furniture that wouldn’t look out of place in Buckingham Palace. But there are plenty of larger, more lavish options, including Room 1957, which has a walk-in wardrobe, four-poster bed and a refurbished bathroom with a hot tub overlooking the White House. The most contemporary part of the hotel is the Maybach suite, a multi-roomed, Mercedes-Benz-themed bachelor’s den in black and white, kitted out with boys’ toys including home cinema and a long dining table designed for Champagne - and caviar-fuelled parties. Mini Penhaligons bottles in the bathroom.

Guest room at Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow

How about the food and drink? A grand total of 19 restaurants span the hotel’s 35 floors, but there are three of note. The grand-piano-adorned Tatler Club, run by the Novikov Group, serves Russian, European and Ukrainian plates – from burgers to borscht – and is frequented by sleek regulars. The third-floor Farsi is another people-watching favourite, with an authentic Iranian setting and feasts of lamb shashlik, aubergine and rice. For the best view, Buono on the 29th floor has seafood linguini, truffle pizza and Negroni Sbagliatos. Those with deep pockets can book the two-person restaurant set on a vertigo-inducing platform on the 35th floor. Breakfasts include everything from European-style eggs and bacon to Asian gyozas and build-your-own noodle soups.

Anything to say about the service? Ebullience is not forthcoming here, but then Russia is not the place for those expecting warm greetings in the elevator or a ‘bless you’ in response to a sneeze. Staff here are typically Russian – formal, competent and serious. Receptionists dressed immaculately in tight-fitting red dresses and heels perform efficient check-ins, while men in black provide security and directions – just don’t expect them all to understand English.

Who comes here? With its proximity to the business district, the hotel is popular with experienced travellers from Russia and beyond. But the addition of 26 top-end jewellery and clothing shops, a Rolls-Royce showroom and a wellness club featuring an Olympic-sized swimming pool , spa, sauna, hammam and traditional banya also make it a favourite with a high-stakes crowd – which has included Robert de Niro, Sophia Loren, Scarlett Johansson, Francis Ford Coppola and Audrey Tautou.

Presidential suite at at Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow

How does it fit into the region? With a ground floor the size of a shopping mall, a restaurant and bar scene to rival a small city and a gym and swimming pool more comprehensive than any club in Moscow, it’s not like anyone actually needs to leave the hotel. But just across the river is White Rabbit, a regular in the upper echelons of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list and creative home to Chef’s Table star Vladimir Mukhin. Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral and the Kremlin are all within easy reach, and the hotel has its own flotilla of yachts waiting to escort guests down the Moskva River to absorb the city’s unparalleled architecture.

Anything else we should know? Few hotels have a karaoke club, but between the 32nd and 34th floors are a series of intimate, velvet-lined rooms that make up Troubadour. Choose from several types of caviar to accompany a vodka shot or order black spaghetti with Kamchatka crab while working through the song list.

Maybach Suite at Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow

And anything you’d change? It's not the most well-signposted of places, and security staff could speak better English to negate the need for wild gesticulation and miming.

Is it worth it – why? Yes – from the 50-metre basement pool to the unrivalled views of Moscow via the roof bar and restaurant, it’s a hit of Russian-style high-rolling from top to bottom.
