Passenger announces ‘All the Little Lights’ North American anniversary tour

Today, critically acclaimed artist Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) has announced that he will be returning to North America later this year to celebrate the anniversary of his seminal album, All the Little Lights .

It was a life-changing album for Rosenberg that in 2012 elevates the UK singer/songwriter from a touring street performer to internationally renowned, platinum-selling artist.

Passenger will kick off the headlining tour on August 22nd in Toronto and make stops in Montreal, Boston, New York City, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and wrapping up in Vancouver on September 10th. The run also includes two special dates at Red Rocks in Denver supporting Gregory Alan Isakov, in addition to his own headline show.

Pre-sale starts on Wednesday, January 17th at 10am local time, with general on-sale on Friday, January 19th at 10am local time here . All dates are below.

All The Little Lights (Anniversary Edition) was released in October and became Passenger’s seventh Top 10 album in the UK. Entirely re-recorded and completely re-imagined, Mike Rosenberg (aka Passenger) infuses this new set with another decade of experience and wisdom as he calls on friends like Foy Vance, Gabrielle Aplin and Nina Nesbitt for special collaborations. Through it all, he preserves all the spirit and soul of the original while breathing new life into these well-loved Passenger staples.  With the album’s release came a brand-new video for the re-recording of “Let Her Go” featuring Passenger’s longtime friend and tour mate, Ed Sheeran.  The original global smash single went #1 in 19 countries, and today it has over 6 billion combined streams, is the #2 most Shazamed song of all time, and remains the 16th most viewed video on YouTube of all time. The new version of the video boasts more than 150 million views across platforms.

A folk rock fave returns for two shows only

Australia will always have a special place in  Mike Rosenberg ’s heart. The British-American singer-songwriter – better known to the world as Passenger – spent years busking and playing gigs down under, and recorded his fourth album, 2012’s All the Little Lights , in Sydney. The following year, that record – led by the chart-topping smash “Let Her Go” – launched Passenger to international acclaim, earning the folk rock troubadour an Independent Music Award, an Ivor Novello Award, and a Brit Award nomination for Song of the Year. His success led to tours with his long-time friend Ed Sheeran, collaborations with the likes of Josh Pyke and Katie Noonan, and a string of lyrical and cinematic albums including Whispers (2014), Runaway (2018) and Birds That Flew and Ships That Sailed (2022).

In 2023, Passenger delivered All The Little Lights (Anniversary Edition ), an entirely re-recorded and richly re-imagined take on the beloved album, featuring collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Foy Vance, Nina Nesbitt and Gabrielle Aplin. To celebrate its release, Passenger is returning to the Sydney Opera House for the first time since his appearance in the Late Night Lounge series back in 2010, performing at the Concert Hall for two nights only. With his intimate vocals and shimmering songcraft, this is sure to be a show to remember. Presented by Sydney Opera House

Getting here, frequently asked questions, venue information.

Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars. All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see  the Wilson Parking website  for details.

Please check the  Transport NSW website  for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six min walk to the Opera House. 

Ticket purchases and collection at our Box Office is discouraged and eTicket or postal delivery methods should be used, wherever possible. However, if you are collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this at least 60 minutes before the event starts. If you have already received your tickets, the venue doors will be open 45 minutes pre-show for Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 30 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Please take your seats as soon as you arrive. 

If you are late, we will seat you as soon as we can and, where possible, in your allocated seat. However, to reduce movement in the venue as well as minimise disruption to the performance and other patrons, ticketholders may be seated in an allocated latecomer’s seat. Please be aware that some events have lock-out periods. In these cases, latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. On occasions, this may not be until the interval, or at all where there is no interval.

In accordance with our venue security procedures, Opera House security will be scanning and checking bags under the Monumental Stairs, prior to entering the building. Bags will be scanned by an x-ray machine, and staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling your belongings, such as gloves. Cloaking facilities will be open 60 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 60 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. However it is strongly encouraged that you travel lightly to minimise contact and queuing. Any bags larger than an A4 piece of paper will need to be checked into the Cloak Room.

The authorised agency for this event is the Sydney Opera House.

Only tickets purchased by authorised agencies should be considered reliable. If you purchase tickets from a non-authorised agency such as Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Ticketbis, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia or any other unauthorised seller, you risk that these tickets are fake, void or have previously been cancelled. RESALE RESTRICTION APPLIES. For more details, please refer to our  General Terms and Conditions for Tickets and Attendance at Events.

Passenger, the working name of singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg, makes intimate, folk-inflected indie pop. Originally a four-piece, Passenger formed in Brighton, England, as a collaboration between singer/songwriter Rosenberg and composer Andrew Phillips. Working out of Phillips' studio, the duo recorded the songs that would become Wicked Man's Rest, Passenger's debut album. The disc was released on ChalkMark in 2007 and spawned several singles including "Wicked Man's Rest," "Walk You Home," "Do What You Like," and "Table for One." Passenger opened for several high-profile indie acts throughout the U.K. that year, including Kate Nash and the Hold Steady. The following year found the band providing the soundtrack to the film Where Have I Been All Your Life? and performing at the 2008 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Phillips parted ways with Passenger in 2009, leaving Rosenberg at the helm. The band's sophomore effort, 2009's Wide Eyes Blind Love, reflected this change with a stripped-down acoustic sound. A year later, Rosenberg's Passenger returned with the "fan-only" release Divers and Submarines. Also in 2010, Passenger released Flight of the Crow, featuring collaborations with such artists as Josh Pyke, Katie Noonan, Elana Stone, and others. In 2012, Passenger released a fifth full-length effort, All the Little Lights, which featured a more fully fleshed-out sound. While the album was released in the summer of 2012, it wasn't until 2013 that a tune from All the Little Lights, "Let Her Go," broke through as a hit in Europe. By the end of the year, the single had reached number one in 16 countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, and Belgium. Rosenberg began work on his next album, Whispers, toward the end of 2013 and enlisted All the Little Lights' co-producer Chris Vallejo to work with him. Whispers was released in 2014 and featured the singles "Scare Away the Dark" and "Heart's on Fire." A year later, the band paired again with Vallejo for Passenger's full-length follow-up, Whispers II. Rosenberg also announced that all profits from Whispers II would go to help fund UNICEF U.K.'s work in Liberia. In 2016, Passenger returned with Young as the Morning Old as the Sea, which saw Rosenberg and Vallejo collaborating as producers alongside a newly assembled group of musicians.

The hip-hop artist died after collapsing at a concert in Connecticut Friday, August 30. He was 56.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Thursday said Scoop’s cause of death remains “pending further study.”  This means further tests will be performed.

Scoop was performing at the Town Center Park in Hamden when he collapsed. The incident was captured on video.

Scoop’s tour manager posted about the musician’s death on Instagram earlier the day after his death: “It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, Known professionally as Fatman Scoop.”

Reminisce Festival also posted on Scoop’s passing via Instagram: “It is with the deepest sorrow that we at Reminisce have received the devastating news of the tragic passing of the legendary Isaac Freeman III, known to us all as Fatman Scoop. This loss has left us all heartbroken.”

Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett released a statement Saturday, Aug. 31 as well, saying “On behalf of the Town of Hamden, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Isaac Freeman, known as Fatman Scoop. He was a wonderful performer with a wide following as evidenced by the thousands of fans that came to see what would be his last performance at Hamden Town Center Park.”

His family said in an Instagram post that “the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon on stage and in life.”

With a gravelly voice and dance-floor-friendly sensibility, Fatman Scoop was a mainstay of club playlists around the turn of the millennium. But if the world knew him as the “voice of the club,” his family cherished him as “the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage,” his relatives said.

“His music made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten,” they added, saying he leaves a legacy “of love and brightness.”

Born Isaac Freeman III, Fatman Scoop was from New York City’s Harlem neighborhood and broke out with 1999’s “Be Faithful.” What started as a minor success in the U.S. took off in Europe with a 2003 re-release, hitting No. 1 on the singles charts in the U.K. and Ireland.

The next year, he appeared on the U.K. television series “Chancers,” in which musicians mentored artists who wanted to make it in the U.S., the BBC reported. He also was a contestant on “Celebrity Big Brother 16: UK vs USA,” which was filmed in the U.K. and aired in 2015.

Scoop — sometimes stylized as Fat Man Scoop or FatMan Scoop — collaborated with Elliott on “Lose Control,” a 2005 song of the summer that also featured Ciara. The track won a short-form music video Grammy at the 2006 award show.

The same year as “Lose Control,” he was featured on Mariah Carey’s “It’s Like That.” He also was featured on tracks from Timbaland, David Guetta, The Situation and Skrillex, among other artists. In 2018, he reunited with Elliott and Ciara for a remix of the latter’s “Level Up.”

Elliott praised Scoop’s “VOICE and energy” Saturday on X, saying he had contributed to many songs that made people happy over more than two decades.

“Your IMPACT is HUGE & will be NEVER be forgotten,” she added.

His longtime booking agency, MN2S, described him as an artist with “boundless enthusiasm,” a passion for music and a voice and personality that “made an indelible mark on the industry.”

His MN2S representative, Sharron Elkabas, said in a statement Saturday that she had spoken to him a few days earlier.

“He was in such good spirits. It’s hard to believe he is no longer with us,” she said.
